Sight/Geist: Film & Performance Open Call for Emerging NYC Artists, 2026/27

About the Open Call

The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is seeking experimental film and performance submissions from NYC-based emerging artists. The Sight/Geist series supports works that align with themes of art and social justice. Selected artists receive curatorial support, promotional assistance, documentation, and specific honoraria ranging from $300 to $750 plus potential production costs for performances.

What is Offered

Artist fees of $300 (group screening), $500 (solo screening), or $750 (solo performance) with an additional $250 for production costs for performance works.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, reside in NYC, and identify as an emerging artist. Submission limit is one per artist/duo/collective. Selected applicants must be able to submit an invoice and US tax form.
