About the Open Call

Trillium Arts is an artist residency center located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our facilities are best suited to literary arts, photography, visual arts, and performing arts. Resident artists receive a private one-bedroom ground floor suite with a private entrance and shared use of the grounds, including a firepit, hot tub, and waterfall area. Residencies are one week in length, and artists have the option of an Independent Artist residency ($600) or a Mentorship residency ($750), which includes five hours of conceptual discussion with the founders.

What is Offered

One week of private accommodations, a welcome dinner, access to high-speed fiber optic internet, laundry facilities, shared use of creative spaces including a contemplation gazebo, and an optional work-share evening.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years old. The residency is for solo artists only; no groups or collaboratives can be accommodated on property. Independent artist fees are $600 per week, and mentorship residencies are $750 per week. Limited work scholarships are available for a 50% discount in exchange for eight hours of work.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted via an online form. Applicants must provide a CV or resume (max 5 pages), a one-page statement answering 'Why Trillium Arts?', one letter of recommendation (submitted separately by a recommender), and a work sample in their specific genre.
