About the Open Call

The Falls Community Arts Exchange invites artists to experience and engage with the vibrant arts community in Fergus Falls. The 2026-27 Project Based Exchange seeks three artists for 4-week residencies to collaborate with local partners: Outstate Brewing (seeking a musician), Victor Lundeen’s Printing (seeking a writer or print specialist), and the Fergus Falls Public Library (seeking an artist of any discipline). Additionally, a DIY Exchange offers rolling, self-directed stays for artists.

What is Offered

Project Based Exchange recipients receive a $4,000 stipend, up to $1,000 for travel and caregiving support, lodging in a one-bedroom apartment, workspace, project mentorship, and storytelling/documentation support.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, reside in the United States, and live at least 50 miles from Fergus Falls. Employees, board members, and immediate family of Springboard for the Arts are ineligible.
