About the Open Call

The Waiblingen City Scholarship for Drawing and Paper Art will be awarded for the second time in 2026, supported by the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation through a legacy from Renate Reichert. This intergenerational project unites established artistic positions with emerging artists. Internationally renowned paper sculptor Angela Glajcar has been selected as the established artist and mentor for the Waiblingen City Paper Art Scholarship. The emerging artist scholarship is publicly advertised and awarded by an expert jury. The City of Waiblingen invites three international artists from June 15, 2026, to work for six weeks in the Galerie im Kameralamt. Once a week, the public and school groups will have the opportunity to observe the artists in an open studio and engage in dialogue with them. Subsequently, the resulting works will be shown from July 25 to October 18, 2026, as part of a joint exhibition in the Galerie im Kameralamt. Furthermore, during the exhibition period, the scholarship recipients will participate in accompanying programs, including workshops in collaboration with the Kunstschule Unteres Remstal. The selected scholarship recipients receive a full scholarship.
