About the Open Call

The Eastern European Music Academy (EEMA) offers a 12-week music business education program for emerging music professionals. The program is primarily online via Zoom, with classes held weekly on Thursdays (19:00-20:30 CET) and Saturdays (10:00-12:00 CET), from September 4 to November 27, 2024. Participants will learn about the music business ecosystem, rights and royalties, music marketing and PR, digital promo and distribution, showcase selection, tour booking, sync deals, alternative income streams, music export, and grant acquisition. Ten top-performing students will have the opportunity to travel to ESNS 2025 in the Netherlands for an in-person networking event, with travel, accommodation, and delegate passes covered by the organizers. The program costs are largely funded by the European Union through the LIVEMX programme. A participation fee of 150 EUR is required from students as a co-funding measure, though 8 scholarships (full and 50%) are available for those in need.

Requirements

Applicants must be emerging music professionals based in Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, or Ukraine. While all age groups are welcome, the program is designed to benefit individuals between 18 and 35 years old the most.

Applicants must fill out the provided Google Form, which includes sections for personal details (name, surname, country, email, age, gender), music industry experience, project links, expected benefits from the program, learning interests, and how they found out about EEMA. Applicants can also apply for a scholarship directly within the form.
