About the Open Call

The Substation, in partnership with Rimbun Dahan, invites applications for a 14-day residential arts residency. This programme is conceived as a space for recalibration from production cycles and institutional urgency, supporting artistic practices and research that require time and attentiveness. Located on a 14-acre compound, it offers heritage architecture, native gardens, and a slower pace of life, intentionally close to nature with fan-cooled spaces and limited internet.

What is Offered

14 days accommodation at Rimbun Dahan, access to studio/workspace, return airfare from Singapore, ground transport, weekly supermarket trips, shared facilities access, and an artist honorarium and allowance totaling SGD 1,000.

Requirements

Open to Singapore-based professional artists with valid travel documents and availability from 13 to 26 April 2026. Suited for artists with process-based, research-led practices who can work independently and respect the local environment and culture.
