About the Open Call

CURRENTS New Media is seeking submissions for its 2026 Art & Technology Festival. The festival will take place from June 12 – 21, 2025, at El Museo Cultural in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. The submission deadline is December 5, 2025. Categories for submission include: Installations (interactive and non-interactive), Sound Environments/Installations, Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality Environments, Artist/AI Collaborations, Robotics/Kinetic/Electro-Mechanical Objects and Installations, Multimedia Performance, Fabrication and 2D/3D Printing, Wearables, and Experimental Single Channel Video, Experimental Documentary, and Animation. All applicants must submit an online submission form. Work samples must be viewable online. Artists in many categories may be eligible for travel, lodging, shipping, and equipment support, with specific considerations for international artists due to costs. Notification dates vary by category, with some as early as February 15, 2026, and others by March 15, 2026. Multiple submissions are welcome, each requiring a separate form and fee.

Requirements

Applicants must submit an online submission form. Documentation of work samples must be viewable online (e.g., personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox). Uploaded hi-res photos and video still captures should be no larger than 3MB, .jpg only, labeled with the artwork title and artist name(s). Experimental video submissions must be 12 minutes or less in length. Works in progress are accepted if samples demonstrate a strong body of work.
