Swan Haven Artist Residency

About the Open Call

Yukon Wildlife Viewing (Department of Environment) and Yukon Arts Centre offer a residency at the Swan Haven Interpretive Centre during the 2025 Celebration of Swans. Artists will witness the spring migration of tens of thousands of birds and find inspiration in the local sights and sounds during a 13-night stay. The residency includes a wall-tent studio, simple cabin accommodation, and a $3,000 honorarium. Participants are required to host public workshops and drop-in sessions, and share a digital copy of the work produced for archival and promotional purposes.

What is Offered

$3,000 honorarium, wall-tent studio, 13 nights of simple cabin accommodation, access to shower facilities, and interaction with scientists and students.

Requirements

Open to emerging and established Yukon and Atlin, B.C. artists. The artist must host three public workshops or events (including one family-friendly), host two drop-in sessions, and provide a digital copy of the produced work within three months of the residency.
