The sƛ̓x̣etkʷ Artist-in-Residence Program supports cultural preservation, empowerment, and professional growth for emerging Native American artists. The residency includes a $3,000 monthly stipend, off-campus housing, travel reimbursement, and access to fine art department studios. Residents engage with students and the community through professional development opportunities such as open studio hours, lectures, or critiques.
$9,000 total stipend ($3,000/month), furnished off-campus housing, up to $500 travel reimbursement, studio access, and professional development mentorship.
Applicant must be an emerging Native American artist and an enrolled member of a US Federally Recognized Tribe, with priority given to Tribes of the Pacific Northwest. Must be without gallery representation. Must be able to be on campus for 35 hours per week.
