About the Open Call

The 16th Annual Manifest Prize, now doubled to $10,000, seeks to reward, showcase, celebrate, and document the most exceptional artwork being made today. This project, continuing in Manifest's 22nd season, emphasizes mastery and quality in visual art. The prize is open to works of any media, genre, or style, and any size, with no stylistic or media-based preference or bias. Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2020-2025). The winning work must be available for exhibition from early December through mid-January and will be unveiled at a ticketed preview event on December 11th. Four finalist works (runners-up) will each receive $250. The selection process involves a rigorous multi-member, blind jury process. The winning artist receives a four-week solo exhibit of their work in one of Manifest's five galleries, along with juror and artist statements, and inclusion in the season-documenting publication, the Manifest Exhibition Annual. Artists retain 70% commission on any works sold. All accepted work must arrive ready to install, demonstrating professional-level presentation and craftsmanship. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Works will be insured by Manifest while on gallery premises.

What is Offered

$10,000 cash award, solo exhibition, inclusion in Manifest Exhibition Annual publication, four runners-up each receive $250 cash award, 70% commission on sales.

Requirements

Entries must represent exceptional original works of visual art, design, or high craftsmanship. Works must have been completed within the past five years (2020-2025). Works must be available for the exhibition period (early December through mid-January). All work accepted for the exhibition must arrive ready to install and exhibit professional-level presentation and craftsmanship. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery. Submission constitutes a formal agreement to provide the work for exhibit should it be selected.

How to Apply

Artists must submit works using the online ENTRY FORM available at https://www.manifestgallery.org/one/entry/index.html. Digital images/files must be uploaded via the provided Dropbox link after form submission. Image files must be high-quality JPEG format, named with artist's last_name_first_name_entry_number.jpg. Video entries require a viewable online link and a single representative JPEG image. The entry fee must be paid by U.S. check, money order, or credit card via PayPal. Fees are non-refundable. Number of entries is unlimited, but a recommended maximum is 12.
