About the Open Call

The fellowship provides access to One Story online classes, Writing Circle admission, a $2,000 stipend, free admission to One Story’s summer writers’ conference, and a full manuscript review with Executive Editor Hannah Tinti. Targeted at early-career fiction writers who have not published a book and have never been enrolled in an advanced degree program in Creative Writing, English, or Literature.

Requirements

Early-career fiction writer, never published a book (includes self-publishing), never enrolled in an advanced degree program (MA/MFA) in Creative Writing, English, or Literature, aged 21 or older as of January 1, 2027.
