The Catalyst: Publishing Opportunity

About the Open Call

The Catalyst is a blog and community hub for the work of healers, organizers, artists, and other storytellers. It welcomes submissions of opinion articles, reviews, essays, interviews, short stories, creative writing, poetry, educational guides, and project launch statements that seek to inspire collective change and personal transformation. The Catalyst is particularly interested in highlighting the work of BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, Disabled/Neurodivergent, and other multiply marginalized individuals. Submissions are open on a rolling basis.

What is Offered

Publishing, community hub, illumination for previously published works, networking, peer support, and values-aligned marketing & partnerships through Fortuna Major Press.

Requirements

Submissions must align with the platform's vision for a just, liberated future and must not be rooted in domination, supremacy, or dismissal of collective pain. Work resembling white supremacy, ableism, ageism, classism, sexism, homophobia, racism, xenophobia, or appropriation will be denied. Individuals should wait approximately 2 months between submitting different content. Organizations/collectives have a 2-month period between submissions for their respective entities, allowing independent work submission concurrently.

How to Apply

Submissions for The Catalyst are accepted on a rolling basis via a Google Form linked on the 'Publishing Opportunities' page. Recommendations for features can be sent to fortunamajorpress@gmail.com with the subject line 'Catalyst Referral'.
