Salzburg Global Seminar
The Cultural Futures Forum explores the forces transforming work in the cultural and creative sector, specifically addressing artificial intelligence, automation, and precarious labor conditions. The program examines who has the power and security to build a creative life, focusing on recognition, equity, and workforce futures. Participants will engage in co-creation sessions and a residential meeting to determine the program agenda and influence systemic change across sectors.
Residential fellowship at Schloss Leopoldskron, peer exchange, inclusion in an international network, and potential scholarship funding for selected participants.
The program is open to makers, representatives of cultural institutions, market/finance experts, policymakers, and researchers. Participants must be available for two online co-creation meetings (Feb 4 and Feb 18, 2027) and the in-person residency in Salzburg (March 14-19, 2027). Scholarships are available for specific groups, otherwise, the participation fee is $6,000.
Applications must be submitted through the online application portal at https://salzburgglobalseminar.recruitee.com/o/the-cultural-futures-forum-whose-creative-labor-counts and include responses to four specific prompts regarding the applicant's work, a current initiative, perspectives brought to the group, and a critical question about the future of creative work.
