The Fold Open Call

About the Open Call

The open call invites artists to submit work responding to the theme “The Fold”, inspired by the philosophical ideas of Gilles Deleuze, particularly concepts around interior and exterior relationships, multiplicity, transformation, and continuous experience. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme freely through their own artistic practice. Selected works will form part of a curated virtual exhibition running online from 30 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, including a virtual launch event, online symposium, and recorded discussions with participating artists.

Requirements

Open to visual artists aged 18 and over. International submissions are welcome. All disciplines within visual art practice are accepted. Submit one image per entry (artists may submit multiple entries). Image format: JPEG, 2400px on the longest side, 72 dpi resolution. For video, games, or digital works intended for online viewing, artists should provide a link to the work. Include: Artist name Pronouns (optional) Artwork title Date Medium Short statement (maximum 200 words) explaining the relationship between the work and “The Fold” theme.
