Impart and Nalli Silks
The Impart & Nalli Fellowships support research into underexplored textile-related histories, practices, and traditions across South Asia. The fellowship offers a grant of INR 5.5 lakhs to support one year of independent research and project development. Supported formats include journalism, documentary film, archive activation, practice-based research, and curatorial projects. Collaborative projects are accepted.
Each fellow receives a grant of INR 5.5 lakhs to support one year of independent research.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, reside anywhere in the world, and have a project focused on South Asian textiles. Use of AI or LLMs in the application process is strictly prohibited. Final outputs must be made openly and freely accessible to the public.
Applicants must complete a project proposal via an online Google Form. Required materials include a project budget, project timeline, and a single PDF containing a CV, work samples, and up to two letters of support.
