About the Open Call

The Koi Artist Award, hosted by Blue Koi Gallery, is an international competition recognizing visual artists who demonstrate originality, technical skill, and a compelling artistic voice across all visual media including Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, Digital, and Sculpture. Open to artists 18 years and older, the award celebrates artistic excellence with a focus on creative depth and distinctive voice. Key dates include: Winner & Finalists Notified: December 10, 2025 and Grant Awarded: December 15, 2025. The jury comprises Blue Koi Gallery Director Ka Koi and guest art professionals. We are looking for work that demonstrates originality, strong composition, professional presentation, excellent craftsmanship, emotional impact, and consistency.

What is Offered

A $500 unrestricted artist grant, a published interview, and global promotion for the winner. Finalists receive a featured artist page, social media promotion, and a professionally designed finalist certificate.

Requirements

Open worldwide to artists 18 years and older, accepting all backgrounds, skill levels, and styles. All visual media (2D and 3D) are welcome. Submitted artwork must be original and professionally presented. Image requirements include: high-resolution (Maximum 2000px on longest side), JPEG or PNG format only, no watermarks, frames, or signatures. Professional lighting and a neutral background are preferred. File names must be clearly labeled as 'Artist name – Artwork Title.jpg'.

How to Apply

Submit your artwork by November 30, 2025 using the online form to upload up to 8 images of your artwork. Alternatively, if issues are encountered, applications can be emailed including Artist Name, Email Address, Website (optional), and attached images labeled with titles and mediums. An invoice for the application fee will be sent upon email submission. Submissions will undergo a juried selection process.
