About the Open Call

The River Bends and So Must We is a project of Kolaj Institute that reflects on the Mississippi River as a dynamic force of culture. Through interactive sessions, collections research, and collaborative collage making, artists will explore their process and practice while creating work for a future exhibition and publication.

What is Offered

In-person artist lab, curatorial and community support, potential for exhibition and publication, and access to a material library.

Requirements

Artists over the age of 21 from anywhere in the world. Applicants must submit contact information, bio, statement of practice, 5-7 images of artwork, and statement of expectations.
