About the Open Call

The exhibition "Transformed" explores the beauty and potential of repurposed materials, showcasing the ingenuity of artists who breathe new life into discarded and forgotten objects. Through sculptural works, installations, and mixed media pieces, this exhibition invites visitors to reconsider the objects that surround us—industrial scraps, everyday household items, old tools, broken electronics, recycled fabrics, and even trash—and reframe them as sources of inspiration, narrative, and artistic expression. The exhibition highlights the power of creativity to alter the physical form and shift the cultural and emotional significance of these materials, challenging perceptions about sustainability, consumption, and waste. All original 2D or 3D work following entry guidelines will be considered for exhibition in MFA’s Circle Gallery from October 31 to November 22, 2025. The juror for "Transformed" is Jaynie Crimmins, a New York City-based paper sculptor and artist known for creating alternative narratives by recycling quotidian materials. Her work has been widely exhibited internationally and across the United States. Awards designated by the juror total $1,000, and award contributors and recipients will be listed in the exhibition catalog. Exhibition Schedule: Entry Deadline: September 3, 2025, 11:59 PM.
