About the Open Call

This thought-provoking art exhibition explores the beauty and potential of repurposed materials. Artists are invited to showcase their ingenuity by breathing new life into discarded and forgotten items. The exhibition features works that take seemingly mundane, used, and unwanted objects, such as old tools, broken electronics, recycled fabrics, and even trash, and repurpose them into stunning, thought-provoking compositions. The exhibition highlights the power of creativity to alter the physical form and shift the cultural and emotional significance of these materials. The juror for Transformed is Jaynie Crimmins, a New York City-based paper sculptor and artist known for creating alternative narratives by recycling quotidian materials. Her work has been shown internationally and at numerous museums across the United States. Awards designated by the juror total $1,000.
