About the Open Call

The Transformed exhibition invites visitors to reconsider the objects that surround us, reframing them as sources of inspiration and artistic expression. From industrial scraps to everyday household items, each artwork is a testament to the idea that art doesn’t always come from new materials, but from reimagining what already exists. The exhibition challenges viewers to think about sustainability, consumption, and waste, highlighting the power of creativity to alter the physical form and cultural significance of materials. Works selected by juror Jaynie Crimmins will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from October 31 – November 22, 2025, with a virtual awards ceremony on November 2nd and a closing reception on November 22nd. Awards totaling $1,000 will be designated by the juror.

What is Offered

Artists will have their work exhibited in the Circle Gallery, with potential for awards totaling $1,000. Artists retain 70% (75% for MFA Members) from sales of their artwork through the exhibition.

Requirements

Open to all original 2D or 3D work following entry guidelines. Works must be dry, meet size limitations, and correspond with submitted images. Shipped work requires a bar-coded shipping label (UPS or FedEx preferred, no USPS or shipping peanuts). Artists must agree to MFA’s Statement of Equity and Diversity and General Guidelines. All work entered must be for sale, unless prior agreements are made.

How to Apply

Artists must submit original 2D or 3D work following the entry guidelines detailed in the downloadable prospectus. The entry deadline is September 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Accepted works must arrive at MFA Circle Gallery between October 21-26, 2025, either hand-delivered or shipped, adhering to specific packing and labeling instructions.
