About the Open Call

Transformed is an art exhibition exploring repurposed materials, showcasing artists who give new life to discarded and forgotten objects. It features sculptural works, installations, and mixed media pieces, inviting viewers to reconsider everyday items as sources of inspiration and artistic expression. The exhibition highlights sustainability, consumption, and waste, demonstrating how creativity can alter physical forms and shift cultural significance. All original 2D or 3D work is considered. Works selected by the juror, Jaynie Crimmins (a New York City based artist known for creating alternative narratives by recycling quotidian materials, whose work has been shown internationally), will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from October 31 – November 22, 2025. Awards totaling $1,000 will be designated by the juror. A virtual awards ceremony is scheduled for November 2, 2025, from 4 – 5 PM via Zoom. Accepted and shipped work must arrive at MFA Circle Gallery between October 21 – 25, 2025. A closing reception will be held on November 22 at MFA Circle Gallery from 4 – 6 PM.

What is Offered

Awards designated by the juror total $1,000. Selected works will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery. Artists will retain 70% from sales (75% for MFA Members).

Requirements

All original 2D or 3D work following entry guidelines will be considered. Works must adhere to size limitations. Paintings must be dry. All work delivered must have specific information affixed to the non-viewing side, including Artist Name, Address, phone number, email, Title of the work, medium (be specific), and price. Shipped work must include a bar-coded shipping label (UPS/FedEx preferred, no USPS, no shipping peanuts), and packing/repacking instructions affixed to the outside of the box. Work must correspond with submitted images and comply with MFA’s General Guidelines.
