Maryland Federation of Art
Transformed is an art exhibition exploring the beauty and potential of repurposed materials, showcasing the ingenuity of artists who breathe new life into the discarded and forgotten. Through sculptural works, installations, and mixed media pieces, the exhibition invites visitors to reconsider often overlooked objects as sources of inspiration and artistic expression. Each artwork demonstrates that art can emerge from reimagining existing materials, taking mundane, used, and unwanted items like old tools, broken electronics, or recycled fabrics and transforming them into stunning compositions. The exhibition highlights the power of creativity to alter physical form and shift cultural/emotional significance, challenging viewers to think about sustainability, consumption, and waste. It celebrates resourcefulness and the potential for renewal. Works selected by juror Jaynie Crimmins, a New York City based paper sculptor and artist known for recycling quotidian materials to create alternative narratives, will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from October 31 – November 22, 2025.
Awards designated by the juror total $1,000.
