Uncool Artist
The Uncool Artist Residency (UAR) is a one-year online program designed for artists to strengthen their practice, receive critical curatorial feedback, and build solid connections. It offers weekly group sessions, monthly one-on-one meetings with rotating curators and artist advisors, and Saturday activities for networking. The residency follows a structured syllabus covering practice mapping, documentation, exhibition planning, and project refinement. It culminates the following year in a curated solo exhibition in the Uncool Gallery's NYC space, including documentation, Uncool Gallery representation, and Artsy presence for 1-2 years. The program supports artists across various mediums like painting, installation, performance, and new media, helping them refine their work, statements, and portfolios for international visibility. A quarterly thematic residency option is also available, focusing on clarity and production without an exhibition outcome. The program requires sufficient English proficiency.
