The Bread & Roses Theatre

£15 Application Fee
£15 Application Fee

About the Open Call

This call-out encompasses two opportunities for V-DAY 2026. The 'Raise the Vibration' call seeks monologues or spoken word pieces (under 10 minutes) by women and non-binary individuals exploring experiences of gender-based violence, political instability, and social justice. The 'Collective Call Out' invites proposals from women-led or non-binary-led collectives to curate an evening of entertainment (up to 70 minutes), including spoken word, music, cabaret, and movement. Selected works will be performed in February 2026 as part of a global movement to end violence against women, girls, and the planet.

What is Offered

Performance slots during V-DAY week (Feb 10-14, 2026). Collectives receive up to 21 hours of rehearsal space and a 50% box office split (with 40% going to a chosen charity and 10% to the theatre).

Requirements

Open to women (cis & trans), non-binary, and gender-fluid writers, performers, and collectives. Works must not exceed 10 minutes for individual submissions or 70 minutes for collective proposals. Participation is voluntary as per V-DAY guidelines.

How to Apply

For 'Raise the Vibration', submit text, audio, or video performaces to info@breadandrosestheatre.co.uk with the heading 'RAISE THE VIBRATION 2026'. For 'Collective Call Out', email project titles, company introductions, synopses, and technical requirements with the heading 'V-DAY COLLECTIVE 2026'.
