V I D E O S O U N D A R C H I V E
Calling for video and sound works that reconsiders the current restructures and parameters. Rather than a festival or exhibition, we are carving out a space to encourage a literal pause in life and ‘mindful use of this easily accessible medium’ by underscoring critical thought and creation. Leaning away from social media and insta- “content creation” (vanity metrics) we hope to allow a straightforward space without the unnecessary pressure of views/likes. Works should have a running time up to 10 minutes and must include both your original video and sound in the same piece. If you are not the sole creator of the video and/or sound, please include any collaborators and/or list public domain/open source. Notification of selected works for S14 will be sent via email on September 12, 2025. We will continue to experiment and explore within these restructures. We appreciate your time and look forward to getting to know your work.
An opportunity to present video and sound works in a curated space designed to encourage critical thought and mindful creation, free from social media pressures.
Works must be original video and sound, up to 10 minutes running time, and include both elements in the same piece. If not the sole creator, collaborators and/or public domain/open source materials must be listed. Artists are responsible for copyright compliance.
To be considered for S14, please submit your original video and sound work by August 31, 2025, 11:59pm PT. Review the FAQ on videosoundarchive.com/submit before submitting via the provided Google Form. Ensure works are up to 10 minutes and include both original video and sound.
