Virginia Center for the Creative Arts
The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) hosts artists, writers, and composers for residencies lasting from two weeks to two months. Fellows are selected by peer review based on their professional achievement or promise across diverse fields, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction, playwriting/screenwriting, children’s literature, performance, film/video, book arts, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, and music composition. The primary residency program is at Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia, which has three annual application cycles. Additionally, VCCA offers international programs at Le Moulin à Nef in Auvillar, France, and International Exchange programs, which have a single annual application deadline and are available only to Fellows who have previously completed a VCCA residency in Virginia. Opportunities include fully-funded fellowships and financial assistance. Artists may reside at Mt. San Angelo only once every two years.

Applicants are selected by peer review based on professional achievement or promise in their artistic fields. Artists may only be in residence at Mt. San Angelo once every two years. International programs at Le Moulin à Nef require a prior VCCA residency in Virginia.
