About the Open Call
Manifest Gallery invites artists to submit works that address the portrait, ranging from the most traditional to the most conceptual, abstract, or experimental. The exhibition considers portraiture as a negotiation between observation and interpretation, capturing the character and spirit of the subject. Participating artists receive a $50 honorarium and become eligible for the $1,000 Grand Jury Award.
What is Offered
Selected works will be exhibited from November 6 to December 4, 2026. Exhibiting artists receive a $50 cash honorarium and are eligible for the $1,000 Grand Jury Award. Works may be sold with a 70% return to the artist.
Requirements
Entries must be original works addressing the theme of portraiture. All media are accepted. Digital images must be high-quality JPEGs, at least 1000 pixels at 72dpi. Work must be gallery-ready for installation.
How to Apply
Submit the online entry form at the Manifest Gallery website, pay the entry fee via credit card or check, and upload image files to the provided project Dropbox link.
