Visual Arts Thematic - Future Figurations Residency

About the Open Call

Drawing on ideas of speculative futures, science-fiction, myth-making and world-building, artists are invited to research, imagine and create possible selves and possible worlds, exploring concepts of embodied futurity. This residency runs concurrently with programs in Indigenous Arts and Literary Arts. Participants are mentored by accomplished faculty through research, experimentation and hands-on learning. Artists are assigned individual studios with access to shared production facilities.

What is Offered

Single bedroom accommodation, meal plan ($68/day credit), individual studio space, scholarship covering 100% tuition and 25% of meal/accommodation costs, and access to fitness facilities.

Requirements

Artists or duos (max 2) with formal training in visual arts at post-secondary level or equivalent experience. 18+ years old. Foundational knowledge of equipment and techniques for proposed project is required.
