About the Open Call
Visual Arts residencies at Banff Centre are structured programs of faculty-led activity and mentorship, supporting project-based studio practice. This program invites artists to work with institutional, personal, fictional, and/or speculative archives, exploring themes such as familial/ancestral lineages, cultural inheritance, oral histories, and re-memory. Includes individual studio space, access to production facilities, and faculty mentorship.
What is Offered
Includes mentorship, individual studio access, accommodation on campus, access to meal plan, and access to campus facilities (library, fitness center). Scholarships available for tuition and a portion of housing/meals.
Requirements
Applicants must be 18+ and have completed formal training in visual arts at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience/recognition. Open to individual artists or duos (max two).
