About the Open Call

Watersprite is the world's largest student film festival, offering a vibrant and inclusive space for the next generation of filmmakers. We seek short films in fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental genres. The festival includes industry events, workshops, and screenings, and provides long-term career support through unique industry opportunities rather than just cash prizes. Open to students and recent graduates.

What is Offered

Screening of short films, industry networking, workshops, panels, and potential awards for technical and genre categories.

Requirements

Films must be 23 minutes or less, in English or subtitled, produced after Jan 2025. Entrants must be students or graduated no more than 1 year ago. Max 2 entries per person.

Submit via the FilmFreeway portal. Entrants must also complete a student status verification form provided after submission.
