Women in the Mountains Residency 2026

About the Open Call

The fourth edition of 'Women in the Mountains' residency aims to provide time for deep creative labor, professional and intercultural exchange, and support for women writers. It addresses professional challenges faced by women in literature, such as undervaluation and caregiving expectations. Participants will work on existing or new projects in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or drama.

What is Offered

Accommodation in a private room, full board meals, all transport costs covered, group mentoring sessions, organized mountain activities, participation in a literary reading, and social scholarships for those with additional needs.

Requirements

Women writers aged 18+ currently based in Europe. Requires experience in creative writing and submission of original author material. Conversational English is recommended. Priority is given to candidates who have not previously participated in creative residencies.
